JEAN AUDREY HANSON (WILLIAMS)

JEAN AUDREY HANSON (WILLIAMS) Born May 24, 1925 at Edmonton, daughter of the late Charles Williams and Ella Raymer Williams. She was predeceased by her dear husband John Miller Hanson and by her dear sister Shirley Williams. The family moved to Winnipeg and Jean attended Luxton School and St. Johns Tech. For many years she worked for the Winnipeg Hydro Store before marrying. They lived on Lyndale Drive and were members of Norwood United Church where Jean taught CGIT and became superintendent. She has worked tirelessly at various volunteer projects, including the Princess Elizabeth Guild. She was a member of Crescent Fort Rouge United Church after moving to the Osborne Street Village area. During the last months of her life, Jean was attended and cared for by her dearest brothers, Don Williams (Doreen) of Halifax and Jack (Donna) of Calgary. She leaves nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Also surviving are her stepson Douglas Hanson and his wife Nadia of Montreal by whom she is dearly remembered. She was beloved Grandma Jean to Kara Hanson (married to Christopher Adams) and son Benjamin of Oxford, England; and Kristen Hanson (married to Robert OBrien) and children. Keely and Devlin of Etobicoke, ON. Also surviving is one sister-in-law Ethel Hanson of Regina, SK. Jeans life can be summed up by the words: courage, endurance, service to others. A memorial service will be held on November 21, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Sleep well, beloved, take your deserved rest. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
