Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBENI EDOUARD JOSEPH CHARLES GAUTHIER Devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Albeni was called to return home to his Creator and loving Saviour, on Monday, November 18, 2002. Albeni leaves in his loving memory two sisters, Delima Sabourin and Hermine Gauthier; five daughters, Jeanne Ross, Yvonne (Jean-Claude) Guay, Annette (Roger) Vermette, Florence (George) Tardiff and Dianne (Terry) Palmer; two sons, Marcel (Sharon) and Rene (Gisele) 27 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He also leaves three foster children, Gordon (Christine), David (Carole) and Elizabeth. Dad was born on October 15, 1916, in Bruxelles, MB to Philippe and Josephine Potvin. He and his family resided in St. Norbert most of his life. Albeni was predeceased by his wife Cecile (Bertrand) two infant children; a grandson Rossel Gauthier; a great-granddaughter Christine Bruneau; a son-in-law Roland Ross; sisters, Brigitte Boileau, Claire Painchaud, Therese Dionne, Fernande Lapointe, Eva Gauthier Irene Charest; brothers, Gerard, Hubert, Philippe, Benoit and Henri. Born and raised to be caretaker of Gods good earth, Albeni spent his life as a devoted husband to his beloved wife Cecile, raising their children while tending the farm and caring for his horses. Working at the Trappist Monastery was his joy until his retirement. A man of humble beginnings fashioned by Gods hand into the gentle, tender and loving soul cherished by family and friends. Always was he found with the special twinkle in his eyes and the boyish smile, as he teased young and old alike. We remember Moms acceptance of Dads constant teasing, keeping their relationship forever young and alive. He delighted in his children and his grandchildren. Tenderness of heart, quiet patience, yet reserved firmness were the foundation of family life. He was a man whose hand was extended in friendship, without question, to anyone in need. Dad is now called home to rest in Gods house, and the love of his life, Cecile "sa belle catin". We wish to thank the staff of Foyer Valade for the tender care and love lavished on Dad. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22 in the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church, rue de lEglise. Interment will follow at the St. Norbert Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
