MARIE ZOE GARIEPY (nee DUPONT) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, Marie Zoe Gariepy. Marie passed away peacefully at the Vista Park Lodge on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the age of 87 years. Marie will be lovingly remembered and missed by her grand-children, Kim Gariepy (Ed), Kelly Gariepy (Debora) great-grandchildren, Christopher and Kelsey Bomback; daughter-in-law Agnes Gariepy; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her husband Joseph Donat Gariepy, son Sylvio Ernest Gariepy and was the last surviving member of her family of origin - father Ed Dupont; mother Octavie; brothers, Louis, John, Ralph, George, Theodore, Bill; and sisters, Louise, Florence, Lena, Helen and Marguerite. Marie was born and raised in Binscarth, MB. She met and married Donat Gariepy in 1936. Donat worked for CN Rail which made for extensive travelling across Canada. Marie enjoyed this travelling and later continued to travel all over the world. Marie was a member of the Norwood Legion and participated in many legion activities including fundraising dances and marches. Her hobbies included sewing, baking, swimming, bowling and going to various cultural outings which included Folklorama and Festival de Voyageur. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane. Viewing one-half hour prior to service. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Vista Park Lodge for all their care and assistance and a very special thanks to niece Dolores Fenez for all her visits and assistance.
