MRS. JESSIE MARGARET GLOVER (CREWSON) On Sunday, Nov-ember 17, 2002, Mrs. Jessie Glover passed away at the Heritage Lodge, Winnipeg. She was the widow of the late James Glover. Jessie was born and raised in Portage la Prairie and had a lifelong fondness and attachment to Portage. She is survived by nephews, Dale (Verla) Crewson of Carvel, AB and Keith (Marion) Campbell of Winnipeg; and many nieces and nephews. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Jim; her parents, Jabez and Margaret Crewson (Stanger) sisters, Etta, Lottie (Bill) Campbell, Laura (Wilbur) Dyer; brothers, William, Harry, George (Merle) Crewson; niece Lucille Crewson; nephew Don (Florence) Campbell. She was the last surviving member of a warm and loving family, which greatly diminished the last remaining years of her life. Jessie was a longtime member of the Eastern Star and past Worthy Matron and life member of Elekta Chapter. She was recently presented with a 70-year membership award, of which she was very proud. She was a lifelong member of the Conservative Party and was active in "Grass Roots" work in earlier years. Jessie grew up in slower paced, gentler times, and fondly recalled skating on Crescent Lake and in the Portage Arena to the music of a live band. Her former home on the banks of the Red River, on Henderson Highway, was always home away from home for her grandnieces and nephews where she loved to cook up a storm for hungry kids. The family extends thanks to Home Care staff, Meals on Wheels, and the staff of Heritage Lodge for the services provided which made her final years more comfortable. Also to Yvonne for her care and visits and to Glen and Margie Campbell and Sandy Sparkes for their visits and support in trying times. At Jessies request, there will be a private family interment with no formal service. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
