Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUSSELL A. E. EMBURY It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Russell A. E. Embury on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg, MB at the age of 86 years. He is survived by his children, Cecil and Connie and his granddaughters, Nicole and Allison. Russell was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean D. Embury (nee Boyd) and his siblings, Earl and Harold Embury, Ella Costello, Eveline Read and Orville Embury-Scott. Russell was born on June 14, 1916 in Alexander, MB to Wallace and Augusta (nee Williamson). His mother passed away early leaving his oldest sister Ella to help raise her siblings. Their father worked for C.N.R. as a Section Foreman and they moved often during their youth. Russell served overseas during the Second World War with 101st Battery, seeing active duty in France, Germany, Belgium and Holland. After the war, he met and married Jean in Fairlight, SK in 1950. He worked for the Federal Department of Transport, moving to The Pas Airport in 1952. Russell and Jean moved to Brandon, MB in 1981 and upon Jeans passing, Russell moved to Winnipeg to live with his daughter Connie, so as to be near his children and grandchildren. One of Russells life long loves was his beloved cats and he was a strong supporter of the humane treatment of animals. In accordance with Russells wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Deer Lodge Centre, who looked after Russell so well in his declining years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Russells memory may be made to DArcys ARC (Animal Rescue Centre), 1793 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0E8.
