JEAN FRANCIS ENGEL (nee LYCHOWICH) April 8, 1920 - November 20, 2002 It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Jean, on Wednesday, November 20, 2002. After suffering from a stroke, Jean fought a long and courageous battle and died peacefully at the Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home. Jean leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Tony of 63 years of marriage; her children, Ed (Sheila), Lloyd (Vicki), Marge (Cas), Joyce (Don), Carol, Len (Linda), Diane (Lyle) along with her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Rose; and one brother John. She was a loving wife and mother and taking care of her family was of utmost importance to her. Jean was a wonderful cook, greatly admired for her perogies, cabbage rolls and scrumptious apple square! She loved knitting, crafts, traveling and especially her cup of tea with friends and family. We will miss her laughter, her compassion and her kindness to all. Jeans funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave., at Belvidere Street. For those who wish, viewing will be held one hour prior to her funeral service. We would like to express our thanks to the staff at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home for their loving care and support.
