HANS WIENS 1916 - 2002 After only one night in the Steinbach Bethesda Hospital, on November 18, 2002 with his family by his side, Hans Wiens, aged 86 years of Steinbach, MB, went home to be with his Lord. He was a very active member of the Steinbach Mennonite Church, where he served God faithfully by visiting the widowed, sick, bereaved and the elderly. Prior to his retirement in 1982, Hans was employed at Loewen Windows for 35 years. He was the plant manager for 11 years. He will be remembered for his dedication to his employer and for his personal interest in the people he worked with. Hans will be sadly missed by his wife Suse; four daughters and their families, Fritz (Ernie) Warkentin of Winnipeg, Lisa and Kevin Woelk, Rachel, Matthew; Deron and Naomi Warkentin; MaryAnn (Elmer) Friesen of Swan River, Todd, Tricia and Stan Friesen Reed, Tara and Derek Bravender, Tim; Lotti (Dick) Klassen of Steinbach, Monica, Rachel; Erika (Harry) Hildebrand of Morden, Trevor and Kim, Patrick and Crystal, Colin. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Mariechen Wiens of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by one daughter, four sisters and one brother. The funeral service for Hans Wiens will be held on Friday, November 22 at 1:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Mennonite Church. Viewing is at the Steinbach Mennonite Church on Thursday, November 21 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a devotional at 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach.
