ELMER LLOYD SPALDING August 4, 1924 - November 19, 2002 He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Murial; and daughters, Glenda (Jim) and Holly (Graham) grandchildren, Ashlynn (Scott), Loni, Sara and Spencer. Elmer was predeceased by parents, Katrina and George; brothers, Donald and Victor; and sister Loretta. Elmer was born in Nelson, BC and grew up in Renata, BC which was always a special place to him. His best friend and brother Don had many adventures and stories to tell of their childhood. They shared a strong bond throughout their lives. Elmer was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He worked on the Alberta oilrigs, and spent several years with the Winnipeg City Police Force, then moved to Kamloops and worked as a Corrections Officer, retiring in 1983. Elmer was married for 50 years to Murial, an extremely devoted wife until his passing. He was a very devoted and loving father to his daughters and grandchildren. Elmers passion was gardening, and always had a garden he was famous for. He also enjoyed fishing, the birds that visited the back yard and was a lover of all nature. A gentle giant with a sensitive big heart! Mom was a special person in his life as were his family! Elmer will be very sadly missed! No service by request.
