EDWARD LADOBRUK On Saturday, November 16, 2002, at the Bethesda Hospital, Eddy passed away at the age of 49 years. Eds hearty laugh and smile was a special part of life at the Ladobruk farm. He was a little heavy in his younger years but despite his size he always managed to beat the rest of us to the dinner table. Watching Eddy ride Stormy, our Shetland pony, around the yard is something all of us will always remember. He was bigger than the horse. Ed was an excellent athlete and excelled in all sports. He was regarded as one of the finest catchers in Manitoba in the late 70s. His fastball career took him to Alberta. Ed settled in Calgary; while there, he became an excellent finish carpenter, married and had two sons. Because of Eddys lengthy illness he decided to come to Steinbach to spend time with his family. He came in June of 2002 and stayed with Dad till he was hospitalized seven weeks ago. (During this time our Dad passed away, also.) Throughout his life Ed made many friends wherever he went, but the greatest friend he ever met was when he asked Jesus to come into his heart and life. With that confession, we knew that when this journey was over, he was going to heaven. Surviving Eddy are his sons, Michael and Mackenzie, and their mother Joan; his mother Mary; four brothers, Paul and Gracia of Summerland, BC, Ken and Barb of Steinbach, Tom and Ang of Kamloops, BC, Allen of Kamloops, BC; four sisters, Shirley and Wayne Bill of Calgary, AB, Loretta Janz of Steinbach, Deanna and Kim Benjamin of Winnipeg, Brenda and George Lesage of Steinbach; and their families. He was predeceased by his father Peter on October 11, his brother Jack, and brother-in-law Reg. Service was held at Loewen Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m. November 21 with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Heritage Cemetery. Fr. Leo Couture officiated. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel.
