Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLARRY FRANK ROSCOE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend on October 25, 2002 in Victoria, BC. Larry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife and companion Audrey; sons, Keith (Sheri) and Jeff (Gina), Robbie (Candace) grandchildren, Sara, Taylor, Jennifer and Courtney. He also leaves his mother Cora; brother Barry (Chris), niece Alana; two sisters-in-law, Nath Wakshinsky (Eddie) of Winnipeg, MB, Dee Nordling (Ken) of Langley, BC, nephew Jack Hatch, nieces, Tanya, Dana, Darcy Wakshinsky and Leanne Nordling, who enjoyed their British Columbia visits with their special Uncle Larry; a host of dear relatives and friends. Larry was predeceased by his father Mickey Roscoe in 1977. Larry was born on August 29, 1937 in Brandon, MB. He resided there until his father was transferred to Winnipeg with Canada Bread. As a young man Larrys father brought him into the bread business where he would remain. It was then that he met the love of his life Audrey Mason and they married on April 5, 1958. They resided in the Transcona area and raised three sons. In 1972 Larry took a transfer to Victoria, BC to work for McDonald Bread Co. In 1976 the plant was closed down and Larry moved to McGavins Toastmaster in Vancouver. Subsequent moves to Calgary and back to Vancouver were made and then his oldest son Keith joined the bread family. By 1982 Larry decided to open his own bakery and the family moved back to Victoria and Island Bakery was founded. After many years of hard work, Larry and his sons broke ground for their own building and after a few years of growth, they had to move again up to Cobble Hill. The family business has gone beyond their expectations and now Keith, Jeff and Robbie along with their mother Audrey, will be able to carry on. Their father has left them a great legacy. Larry was also a car buff. He belonged to the Camwinders Car Club in Winnipeg; built a car with his brother-in-law Ed, which they did for several years with a passion. He liked all sports and in his later years spent a great deal of time golfing. He belonged to the Gorge Vale Golf Course, went on his yearly trips with his buddies to Laughlin, NV and other U.S. destinations. Just two weeks before his passing, Larry and his three sons did a game at his favourite Gorge Vale where he was a longtime member, and although he could not finish his game, they were all happy to be together for one last time. Funeral services were held in Colwood (Victoria, BC) on November 2, with interment at Hatley Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, in care of Sands Funeral Chapels, 1803 Quadra St., Victoria, BC V8T 4B8. He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much Who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task Who has left the earth better than he found it Who has never lacked appreciation of earths beauties or failed to express it Who has always looked for the best in others and gave the best that he had Whose life was an inspiration Whose memory a benediction Dean Stanley
