Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) EDWARD SCHMIDT Peacefully on November 24, 2002, William (Bill) Edward Schmidt passed away. He is survived by his wife Nellie Schmidt of 60 years; as well as his daughter-in-law Judy Schmidt; and grand-children, Corinne and Jarrett. He will also be missed by his many friends and family. He was predeceased by his son Dennis, daughter Caroline, as well as his sister and parents. Bill served four years during the war as an Electrical Mechanical Engineer. He was also by trade a carpenter, making his daughter-in-law proud of the work he did for her. William was a foreman for Chalmers Autobody shop for over 30 years. His faith in God will be his legacy to his family and friends. Bill was a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. The love of his life will forever cherish their love. On the evening of that sad day she said, "It seems like only yesterday, yet so many years have gone by, he was a good man". To accept the unacceptable, To forget the grief and pain, Will free us all to live, Until we meet again. "Say hello to Dennis, Dad", from his wife Nellie and family. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 28, at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with interment and reception to follow.
