DARIA (DORA) ORESZKIEWICZ Peacefully, on November 23, 2002 at Seven Oaks Hospital, our cherished Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother passed away at the age of 96 years, with family by her side. Surviving to mourn her loss, sons, Vincent (Margaritta), Ted (Suzette) in Brazil, Alex, and Stanley of Winnipeg; daughters, Teresa and Lucy (Eddie) Mikolajczyk of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Marco and Soraya of Brazil, Colleen, Lana, Shaun (Angie), Derek (Cheryl), Yuri, and Laura; great-grandchildren in Brazil and Winnipeg; and niece Vicky and family in California; nephew Fred and family in British Columbia; niece Olga and family in Nova Scotia; and family in Belarus. Mum was predeceased by Dad and grandson Marconi, brother-in-law Steve and sister-in-law Nettie. Mum was born in Belarus on April 19, 1906. Mum and Dad were married for six years before leaving Belarus for Brazil in 1928. After 20 years in Brazil, Mum and Dad and family of six left for Canada settling in Winnipeg. Dearest to Mums heart was her family. She enjoyed family gatherings and held a special place in her heart for all her grandchildren, Mum was such a kind and thoughtful person not only to her family but friends as well. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital in the ICU as well as the 4th and 5th floors for their caring, support and compassion during this difficult period. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, November 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will follow on Wednesday, November 27 at 10:00 a.m. also at the chapel with Rev. Fr. Anatoly Melnyk officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In accordance with Mums wishes, flowers are gratefully declined.
