ANNE PERMACK May 10, 1907 - November 3, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Anne Permack, aged 95 years, on Sunday, November 3, 2002 at the Luther Home in Winnipeg. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at the Etz Chayim Synagogue, with the interment at the Rosh Pina Cemetery. The pallbearers were Billy Feldman, Saul Rifkin, Avery Spigelman, Adam Spigelman, Myer Thompson and Frank Weinfeld. Anne was born in Russia and immigrated to Winnipeg as a young child. She lived in Winnipeg until her marriage to Isadore Permack on July 1, 1928. They moved to Spiritwood, Saskatchewan, where they lived until 1952, at which time they returned to Winnipeg. Anne was a life member of Hadassah-WIZO as well as a member of Eastern Star and the Rosh Pina Synagogue Sisterhood. Fundraising for Israel and other organizations was an important part of her life. Her true joy was her family and friends. Her home was a gathering place for all to share her great food, stories, celebrations and the holidays. Anne was predeceased by husband, Isadore in 1982, son Norman, sisters, Marion Gitelman and Fanny Applebaum, and brothers, Donald and Hymie Yaffe. Anne is survived by her daughter Sheila (Albert) Lowe of Winnipeg and her son Harvey (Connie) Permack of Vancouver, four grandchildren, Norma (Howard) Klein of Toronto, Ellen (Eppy) Rappaport of Vancouver, Cory Permack of Victoria and Kelly Permack of Vancouver, and three great-grandchildren, Aviva and Lauren Rappaport and Daniel Klein and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff and aides at the Luther Home for their compassion, support and genuine care. A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Oscar Domke. Anne will be truly missed by all that knew her and loved her.
