ALBERT FEDEROWICH On Monday, November 25, 2002, Albert Federowich left peacefully into the loving hands of Jesus. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 57 years, Anne; his children, Jerry (Cherie), Roy (Dale), Colleen (Richard) Wor, Glenn (Cindy) 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Annie Zamolski and Sally Stefanyshyn; and many nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by an infant son, Terrance in 1950; his parents, Anthony and Lettie; sisters, Jessie Kornaga, Mary Rozak; and his brother John. Albert was born on July 21, 1925 in Rossdale, MB. He left home at a very young age to go out west and work on harvest crews, then to build elevators in Thunder Bay and to work in the Picklecrow Mines in Ontario. He joined the Army in 1943 and was stationed at St. Johns, NF where he was trained as a heavy artillery gunner. He married his childhood sweetheart, Anne Pylatyk on May 19, 1945. Upon his return from the Army they began farming and raising their family in Rossdale. He also worked at various jobs during this time before attaining his Masters Plumbing Certificate and establishing his own business. In 1986, he returned to his love of the land and bought a farm in Clarkleigh, MB. There Albert and Anne remained until retiring to Tolstoi, MB in 1991 where he enjoyed his garden. Throughout his life, Dad was a devoted husband and father, always putting the needs of them ahead of his own. His children, grand-children and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. We have many cherished memories that he built with us. He always looked forward to our visits, phone calls, letters and pictures sent, always taking an interest in our activities and accomplishments. Dads door was always open, his sense of humour, card game matches and fellowship will be missed by family, friends and neighbours. Prayers will be said on Thursday, November 28 (tonight) at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 29 at 10:30 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk, with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment will follow in the Rossdale Cemetery. His pallbearers will be his grandchildren. The family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Vita Hospital for their excellent care and support, including Dr. DeKlerk, Dr. Smith, Dr. Humphries, Shauna-Li, Brenda and J.P. Also thanks to Father of St. Malo and Fr. Tomasz Jegierski of Tolstoi for their prayers and support. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
