WINSTON RAMPAUL It is with much grief and sadness that the family of Winston Rampaul announces his passing. Winston died suddenly in Trinidad on November 19, 2002. He leaves to mourn his wife Yvette; children, Rick, Lisa, Marc; his mother Phoolo; grandson Jackson; son-in-law Justin; sisters, Dolly (Sam Maharaj), Molly (Glen Ramoutar), Tara (Harry Maharaj), Sandra; and brother Kenneth. He will be sadly missed by brothers-in-law, Leon, Lucien, Frank, Emile, Claude and Joseph; sisters-in-law, Anne-Marie, Marcelle and spouses; as well as 27 nieces and nephews. Winston Rampaul came to Canada in 1963 to pursue a BA degree. With characteristic energy and determination, he subsequently completed his M.Ed. and PhD, accomplishments which were very dear to his heart. Over a period of 50 years, he was a dedicated teacher, community college instructor, professor and director of International Development programs at the University of Manitoba. At the time of his death, he was retired and a part-time lecturer at the University of the West Indies. A funeral and cremation took place in Trinidad on November 23. A service to celebrate the life of Winston Rampaul will take place at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29.
