Date of Passing: Nov 20, 2002
Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE McMILLAN (nee BLAIS) Marguerite, wife of the late Lloyd Glen McMillan, slipped away peacefully at 6:30 p.m. on November 20, 2002, at Sutherland Nursing Home in Peace River, AB, with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. Marguerite was the daughter of Eusebe Joseph and Eleontine Blais. She was born on February 20, 1919, in the home that her father built on Victoria Avenue East in Transcona, MB. Her parents were early settlers in Transcona, moving there from Rivers, MB. Her father was offered the position as foreman of the tinsmith shop in the newly built Transcona CNR yard, in 1913. She lived most of her life in Transcona. In 1969, Marguerite and Glen moved to Sioux Lookout, ON. She will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends. She had many creative talents, loved to go fishing, had a beautiful singing voice, and a sparkling sense of humour. She was the best cook, and nothing made her happier than to have family and friends enjoy eating at her table. Predeceased by her husband Glen, November of 1994, she was also predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Marie Anne and Lillian Roy; and her two brothers, Jean (John) and Felix (Phil) Blais. Loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she will be fondly remembered by her sisters, Helene Blais (St. Boniface) and Therese Everton (Transcona) her children, Pat (Fred Olson), Garry, Suzanne (Dave Bellows) and Allen; six grandchildren, Selena, David, Charlie, Kristen, Sunni, and Josh; and many nieces and nephews. Donations may be made in Marguerites memory to the Alzheimers Association, or a Nursing Home of your choice. Marguerite will be buried with her husband Glen, in Sioux Lookout, ON.
