ROGER LEE WILKEN After a lengthy and hard fought battle, it is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Roger Lee Wilken on November 26, 2002, at the age of 75. Born in Stone, SK, and raised in Antler, SK, Roger enjoyed a successful career in the Canadian Provost Corps from 1951 to 1978; serving in: Korea, Germany, Shilo, MB, Winnipeg, MB, Halifax, NS, Puerto Rico, and as a peacekeeper in Cyprus. Finally retiring to Brandon in 1977. Roger was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, curling and skeet shooting and spent many summers camping with his family. Roger was a good friend to many, particularly those interested in a game of cards or a fish story to share. Roger will be will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Tena (Burtnick) and family, Mark and Susan Wilken, Brenda (Lauren) Wilken and partner John Hendry, and granddaughter Kristi Wilken, all of North Vancouver, BC; as well as his sister Audrey and husband Jim Williamson and their family in Brandon. A special thank you to Dr. Maier and all of the nurses for their exceptional care at Brandon Regional Health Center. Illness may have taken him much too early but he will live on in our hearts always. A graveside ceremony was held at the Brandon Cemetery Friday, November 29.
