Date of Passing: Dec 01, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL LEON BELISLE October, 1917 - December, 2002 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. Peacefully on Sunday December 1, 2002 at the age of 85 years, with his family by his side, Paul Belisle, loving husband of 63 years to Emilia (nee Hupe), passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Paul was predeceased by his mother and father, Leon Belisle and Delphine (Proulx) baby son; brothers, John, Louis, and Rosaire; sisters, Agnes Gauthier, Delia Leclerc, Lucie Vandale, and Rosa Belisle. He is survived by his wife Emilia; sons, Adelard (Dru), Gerard (fiancee Ann Marie Chan) daughters, Cecile Marinelli (Charlie Fisher), Florence Molaro (Martin Guss), Adrienne Simpson (Gary) 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Therese De Montigny and "Sister" Germaine. Dad was born in St. Genevieve on October 30, 1917 to Leon Belisle and Delphine "Proulx". Dad was one of 10 children. He married Emilia Hupe on January 21, 1939 and raised five children. Dad was the best father that any family could ask for. He was always there for us. He was a very hard working man. Paul worked for numerous jobs: Carter Construction, St Boniface Cemetery, St. Boniface Cathedrale, Legislative Grounds and retired as a grounds keeper at Red River Community College. Dad loved the outdoors. You would always find him in the garden tending to his flowers and vegetables or sitting on his favourite chair feeding the squirrels that he tamed. Dad will be sadly missed by all the people he touched throughout his life. Dad, we will always remember you with love and miss you very much. May you rest in peace and may God bless you. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Yaffe and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the care Dad received while he was there. Also the homecare staff that came to the house. A huge thank you to Riverview Health Centre, Dr. Crow, Dr. Paul Syslak, Dr. Moulder, all the nurses and the Health Care Aids. You gave Dad the best care we have ever seen. Through laughter and tears you helped us through our hardest times. Funeral service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. 1 East at Green Acres Lane on Wednesday, December 4 at 10:30 a.m., with labbe Leo Couture officiating. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep, I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamonds that glint on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain, When you awaken in the mournings hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night, Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I did not die. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
