Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT LOUIS LAVALLEE Peacefully, on Saturday, November 30, 2002, at Stonewall Hospital. Dad passed away at the age of 75 years. Dad was born on March 18, 1927 the fourth child of Alfred Lavallee and Rose Ferris, on the family homestead near Burnt Lake, MB (16 miles east of Eriksdale) where he grew up and attended Cook School. In 1951, Albert married Elizabeth Welsh and they lived in Winnipeg, moved to Buckingham, QC in 1960 and moved to Eriksdale in 1967. After Moms sudden passing in 1976 and in order to continue working with Comstock, Dad moved to Teulon where he raised his family and provided a loving home. After his children had grown up, Dad married his second wife Rita and they spent many happy times together, playing music and entertaining others. In 1989 Dad and Rita moved to Stonewall. In 1999 Rita passed away and Dad continued to reside in Stonewall until his passing. Dad is survived by his special friend Linda Gurney; his children and their partners, Wayne (Yvette), Shirley (Jim), Dale (Marilyn), Lorne (Louise), Don (Heather) his grandchildren, David, Jamie, Sean, Brent, Samantha, Scott, Cory, Katie, Jared and Jodi; his only sister Lillian Yanciw; his brothers, Louis (Evelyn), Roy (Lorna), Gordon (Eileen), Ron (Charlotte) and sisters-in-law, Carol and Alice. Dad was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth (nee Welsh) in 1976; and his second wife Rita (nee Beauchemin) in 1999; his brothers, Art in 1992 and Ken in 1997. Dad is also survived by in-laws, Violet Welsh, Cecile (Rene) Breland, Yvonne Seneshen, Agnes Klippenstein, Helene McRae, Therese Leochko, Teddy (Annette) Welsh and Rita Newman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Peter Yanciw, Frank Welsh, Leo Welsh, Albert Welsh, Charles Browning, John Seneshen, Ed Klippenstein, Louis Lamoureux, Walter Leochko and Gerry Newman. Dad was a person who loved life, enjoyed people and like laughing and having a good time. One of Dads favourite things to do was to tour the area he grew up in, reminiscing about people who were friends and neighbours and talking about "old times" with his best friend Rene Breland. Dad had always been interested in family history and delighted in hearing about his Metis heritage and long family history in Manitoba. This was evident in his love of old-time music and his ability at playing the fiddle at parties and school dances. Dad was a compassionate person always willing to help others whenever he could. He was a hardworking person and always had to be busy doing something. Dad enjoyed working outdoors especially the years he spent working with Comstock where he made many friends and acquaintances. He also enjoyed his years working with Riddell Farms in Warren, the coffee shop banter and the teasing that often took place. Most of all, Dad loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Dad always showed his affection for his family and you could always be sure that the children were never short of hugs and kisses. The family would like to thank Dr. Pinniger, the nursing staff at the Stonewall Hospital and all of Dads health care workers who provided Dad with care, kindness and comfort these last few months. A prayer service will be held 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3 at MacKenzie Funeral Home in Stonewall. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4 at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre. Interment to follow at the Abbeville Cemetery.
