DAVID GEORGE MARSHALL It is with great sorrow the family announces the sudden passing of Dave Marshall on Friday, November 29, 2002 at his home in Ponemah at Winnipeg Beach. Dave was born on July 27, 1941 in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by both his parents, Marion and George. Dave will be sadly missed by his wife Maddy of 38 years, his son Chris (Treva) of Calgary, his daughter Deena (Jeff) of Ponemah, grandson Iain and granddaughter Jillian. Dave will also be missed by his "little brother" Glen (Liz) of Winnipeg, brother Richard (Janet) of Winnipeg, brother Gary and sister Kathy of British Columbia, Uncle Alex (Beth) of California and Uncle Jack (Betty) of Winnipeg. Dave will be missed by his other Mom and Dad, Nanny (Dorothy) Forbes and husband Doug of Winnipeg, along with David and Diane Kostynuik of Winnipeg, Terry and Judy Watson and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad grew up in Winnipeg and was in the navy for three years. His work took him all across Canada, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. We settled in Stonewall, MB where he became very involved with hockey. He was everyones "Buddy". His last four years were spent at his dream retirement home in Ponemah at the beach, where he found peace and quiet. Dad was a quiet guy - he didnt say much but he was always there when you needed him, especially for his kids. Dad loved to fish, golf and hunt (he called it hunting but he never shot anything). He dabbled in woodwork and took great pride in his yard. Dave was one of the good guys. As a Father you were the best As a fisherman, hunter and golfer - well, you tried As a husband, I always felt I was such a lucky lady You were always my best friend through Thick and thin I will never forget you. Thank you for being you - Love Maddy Iain says "Give me two, Grandpa" I love you Dad - always Deena. (and a big smile from Jill!) Daves wishes have been kept, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A friendly gathering will take place on Wednesday, December 4 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at his home. For directions please call 389-5055. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
