EVA CHUBATY Peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2002 at the Vita District Health Centre, Eva Chubaty of Stuartburn passed away at the age of 90 years. Eva was born in Cowan, MB on January 7, 1912 to Alex and Maggie Shushelnisky. She grew up in Ethelbert, and moved to Stuartburn to teach at Prawda School, where she met and married John Chubaty on June 9, 1930. She lived her whole life on the farm at Stuartburn until her passing on November 29. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Maggie Shushelnisky; her husband John in 1977; a daughter Helen in infancy; daughter Doris in 1982; as well as brother Dick; and sister Anne. Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Anne (Frank) Shymko, Sylvia (Leonard) Baron, Elsie (Frank) Bially and Nancy (Bill) Matishuk; six sons, Bill (Helen), Peter (Helen), Ron (Marge), Jerry (Gloria), Bob (Therese) and Larry (Theresa) son-in-law Nick (Nettie) Koniak; 27 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Cassie Atamanchuk of Brandon and many other relatives and friends. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, followed by funeral service with Divine Liturgy on Wednesday, December 4 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church at Stuartburn with Rev. Fr. Ihor Royik officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church at Stuartburn.
