NORMAN (BUNT) McLEAN With great sorrow, the family announces the sudden but peaceful passing of our father on Saturday, November 30, 2002, at his residence, aged 81 years. Norm (Bunt, as he was affectionately known) was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife, Eileen (Thorne) in 1997; his brothers, Jack McLean (1994) and Gordon McLean (1998). He is lovingly remembered by his children: Beverly and Jamie Berzuk; Linda and Rod Hack; Patti and Terry Kirkham; and good friend Doris Stoetzel. Cherished grandfather of Calvin (Kelli), Ryan (Theresa) and Jason Berzuk; Lisa, Brad and Brynne Hack; Jeanine, Jeffrey and Jennifer Kirkham. Proud great-grandfather of James and Cassidy Berzuk. He was born in Winnipeg in 1921. Married in 1943, Bunt and Eileen resided in the East and North Kildonan areas all their lives. They delighted in meeting people, shaking hands, sharing good times with dear friends, and travelling on many memorable vacations. Together, they enjoyed a lifetime of happiness and cherished their 53 years of marriage. He served four years in the Royal Canadian Navy and was a life member of the Legion (Prince Edward Branch). Throughout the years, he was an active sports enthusiast, having enjoyed curling (an Honorary Life Member of Elmwood Curling Club) golfing (a member of Pine Ridge and Elmhurst Golf Clubs) and bowling (Roxy Lanes). Always a gentleman, who lived life to the fullest with integrity, compassion, and humility, he treasured his lifelong friendships. A truly devoted father, he possessed an enormous amount of pride, a keen sense of humour, and endless patience. He loved to live and lived to love...and hug...and kibitz...and dance...and smooch...and above all, he was always there for each of us. We will forever hold within our hearts a lifetime of wonderful memories. We love you Dad! "Day is done, gone the sun, From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky, All is well, safely rest, God is nigh." In keeping with his wishes, no service will be held. Our sincere thanks and appreciation are extended to Dr. Darcy Johnson for his care and compassion. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
