VERNON DARCY BURKE Peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2002 at the Riverview Health Center, Vernon Burke in his 74th year went to be with his Lord and Saviour. Vern was born on December 5, 1927 in Lampman, SK. At an early age he moved with his parents to the Carmen District where he attended school and helped out on the farm. In the early 50s he moved to Winnipeg to work for Marshall Wells. He enjoyed curling and golf and in his younger years loved to dance as he was a good dancer. He met and married Doreen Kroll of Lilyfield, MB. Vern was a very mild mannered man, never had a harsh word to say about anyone. Vern was predeceased by his wife Doreen; his parents, Edward and Evelyn; one brother in infancy, Clare and his brother-in-law Herb Kroll. He is survived by his sister-in-law Ruth Kroll; niece Carroll Dalke (Harvey) nephews, Ray (Marva), Ron, Doug (Karen) and Dave Kroll (Dianne) great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5 at 1:30 p.m. in St. James Lutheran Church, Cavalier Drive at Hamilton Avenue with the Rev. Rod Buck officiating. Viewing in the church prior to the service. Interment in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to Oakview Place for their sincere care and kindness extended to our Uncle.
