Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM GEORGE HARRISON Peacefully, on Sunday, December 1, 2002, William Harrison passed away at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 86 years. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Alice, of 63 years of marriage; children, Brenda, Scott, Stacia and Maureen; four grandsons, Bob (Teresa) of Mission, BC, David (Lori) of Coquitlam, BC, Sean of Tottenham, ON, Troy of Winnipeg; two great-granddaughters, Helena and Margaret of Mission, BC; brother Don (Eleanor) of Surrey, BC; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Laurie in August 2001 and by his sister Delsie in August 1971. Bill was born in Regina, SK and moved to Winnipeg with his family while in his early teens. His career in the auto industry spanned 45 years, at Dominion Motors, Auto Supply and Keystone Ford. During the Second World War, he served his country proudly in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, ending his military service with a commendation and sergeants rank. He was a long-standing member of the St. Vital branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Bill enjoyed travelling, particularly his three trips to England and also enjoyed seeing British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Chicago, U.S.A. Many happy days were spent at Twin Lakes Beach, MB with Alices sister Grace and husband Reg Lambert and their family. He also enjoyed times spent with Alices brother Cyril (Cy) and wife Anne Edwards and family at their cottage at Granite Lake, ON. Support from home care workers, Frieda, Peggy, Eleanor and Angie allowed Bill to remain at home until his failing health necessitated a move into personal care in May 2001. Bills family is grateful for the compassionate care provided to him by Dr. R.J. Davey of St. Boniface Clinic over many years, by the staff of Tuxedo Villa during his 15 months there and by the staff of the Grace Hospital during his last week. No formal funeral service will be held. A private family interment will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Bills memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or to the St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Room D 1003, Winnipeg, MB R2H 9Z9. Yesterday Where have you gone since yesterday - And left us lonely here? Today you seem so far away, Who yesterday was near. No map of ours, that we may use, Your journey can we trace; We only know youve reached your Home And seen your Fathers face. WOJCIKS ALL BELIEFS & FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
