WILLIAM (BILL) FULTON CAMPBELL 1908 - 2002 Peacefully, with his family around him, at the Stonewall Hospital, in his 95th year, on Tuesday, December 3, 2002. Bill was born in Paisley, Scotland, in 1908 and moved with his family to Manitoba in 1910. After one year farming in the Lilyfield district, his father purchased the farm near Argyle. Bill continued to farm until his semi-retirement at age 80, and helped out on the farm until he was 92. Bill and Betty were married in 1940. They were frequent travellers, and were active members of their church and many service organizations. Bill also served as RM Councillor. Bill was an avid gardener, and was active in sports, continuing to bowl and curl until his illness at age 93. Bill is survived by his loving wife Betty; son Jim and Barb and family of Stonewall; son Donald and Shirley of Argyle; daughter Jean and Ron Bailey and family of Carp, ON; daughter Lisa and Richard Sheridan and family of Winnipeg; daughter-in-law Darlene Campbell and Ernie Dawson and her family of Argyle; his nieces and nephews and their families; and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his son Bill; his parents, Malcolm and Agnes; his brother James; and his sisters, Mary Bruce, Joan deLaroque, and Agnes Bidwell. A Masonic Service was held on Wednesday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Home in Stonewall. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Stonewall United Church, William M. A. (Bill) Campbell Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Winnipeg Foundation, or the charity of ones choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Balmoral, in care of the arrangements.
