Born: Jun 05, 1924
Date of Passing: Nov 29, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH (BETTY) MINARZ It is with deep sorrow that the family announce the passing of Elizabeth Minarz on November 29, 2002 at the Dauphin Regional Health Center. Elizabeth was born in Poland on June 5, 1924. She then immigrated, with her family, to Canada in 1936. In 1944 Elizabeth married Anthony Minarz. They resided in Winnipeg before moving to the Listowel area near Dauphin, where they farmed from 1945 to 1955. They then moved to the Dauphin Plains area to continue farming until 1963. At this time they moved into the Town of Dauphin. Upon moving into Dauphin both Elizabeth and Anthony began working at the Dauphin Regional Health Center until their retirement. Elizabeth was predeceased by her father Joseph in 1968, her mother Mary in 1989, her son David in 1962, and her husband Anthony in 1979. Elizabeth leaves to mourn her son Jerry Minarz (Nancy) of Winnipeg; her daughter Carol Campbell (Bob) of Dauphin; her grandchildren, Kevin Minarz (Kassy) and Darren Minarz of Winnipeg, Shawn Campbell and Scott Campbell of Roblin; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Garett Minarz of Winnipeg; sisters, Lillian Urski of Dauphin, Stella Bayne (Ron) of Richmond, BC, Anne Urbanovitch (Ben) of Edmonton, AB, Muriel Urbanovitch (Morris) of Sifton, MB, Albene Derkatch of Winnipeg, MB, Mary Peluk (Ken) of Beausejour, MB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeths joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love was evident every time she spoke of or visited with her family. Spoiling her grand-children and great-grandchildren was, in her opinion, an inherent right of being a grand-mother. Another of Elizabeths pleasures was visiting and having coffee with her friends at the apartment. These visits brought great joy to her life. To those who participated, we give our thanks. A viewing for family members only, was held on Tuesday, December 3 from the Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life was held on Wed-nesday, December 4 at 10:00 a.m. from the Dauphin St. Viators Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Mark A. Tarrant officiated and interment followed in the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Minarz, Darren Minarz, Shawn Campbell, Scott Campbell, Jim Urski and Craig Urbanovitch. Remembrance comments were respectfully delivered by Kevin Minarz. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Manitoba Cancer Society. The family would like to thank Dr. Lysack, Dr. Penrose, the nursing staff and all employees on the 2nd floor of the Dauphin Regional Health Center for their compassionate and professional care given to Elizabeth. You are a credit to your profession. The Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral service had care of the funeral arrangements.
