Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWERNER BRUNO KLIEWER October 15, 1954 - December 4, 2002 Wern Kliewer, adored husband of Faye and beloved father of Thomas and Cherie, died suddenly of a cardiac arrest on the morning of Wednesday, December 4, 2002. He is also survived by his father Bruno; brother Rob, his wife Debbie and their daughter Maggie; sister Anita and her husband Marvin, with baby to be born any day. He is predeceased by his much loved mother Margarete. Wern was baptized in 1972 at Portage Avenue M B Church. He was a believer in his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He met his wife at the same church and both have served there during their 22 year marriage. One of Werns passions was computers. After graduating from Red River Community College, he began a career at Great West Life for 17 years, then later at Manitoba Public Insurance. He helped many friends, family and the church with computer problems. His wife called him a "computer doctor". He served on the Audio/visual/computer committees at church for many years. Another of Werns passions was cars. He loved to tinker with engines and to drive convertibles. He and Faye whisked away on their honeymoon in his MGB in 1980. He later bought a boat and built a dock on the Red River, spending many happy hours boating or fishing on the dock. Werns main passion was his family. Wern and Faye were best friends and had an extremely happy married life. Thomas recently graduated from School of Discipleship at C.M.U., and Cherie will graduate from MBCI in 2003. They knew he loved them and was very proud of them. He loved to travel, play floor hockey, watch movies and baseball, play rook and other games, and always visit with friends and family. He was easy going and fun to be with. The funeral service will be at Portage Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church, 1420 Portage Ave., Saturday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m., with viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. Donations can be made to the Gideons. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
