SVEND AAGE HOULIND Peacefully on December 4, 2002 with his family by his side, Svend passed away at the age of 96. Left to mourn are his daughter Anne Byzuk (Salmon Arm, BC) daughters-in-law, Dorothy (Nanaimo, BC), Lucienne (Langley, BC), and Mary; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister Gerda in Denmark. Svend was predeceased by his wife Anna; sons, Iver, Jens, John, Henning; and daughter-in-law Eileen. Svend and Anna were married for 57 years. They raised their five children and farmed in Ostenfeld for 28 years. After giving up framing in 1965, Svend worked on construction until his retirement in 1976. They moved to Richer in 1972 and lived there until Annas passing. Shortly thereafter, Svend moved to Columbus Villa in Transcona where he has resided ever since. Grandpa, as he was known to many, always had time for at least one game of cards. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour. When someone has given so much of himself through the years, its hard to find a way to say thanks. But for all the times you took the time, for all the sacrifices youve made, and for all the wonderful memories youve given our family - thank you. Grandpa, Youll always be loved very much. In accordance with Grandpas wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. in Ostenfeld Lutheran Church. Interment to follow in Ostenfeld Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
