JAMES (JIM) FERGUSSON 1921 - 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Fergusson on December 3, 2002. Jim was predeceased by his parents, David and Elizabeth; and his brother Dave. He is survived by his loving wife Olive; and his brother Robert (Clara) of Calgary; his two sons, Jim (Bonnie) and Gord (Sharon) and daughter-in-law Joan. He also leaves to mourn his passing his grandchildren, Tammy, Melissa, Meghan, Laurie and Corey; and his many nieces and nephews. Jim served in the RCNVR from 1939 to 1945, doing convoy duty in the north Atlantic. He met his wife in 1948 at the Winnipeg Roller Rink and they were married in 1950. For most of his civilian working life he was the owner/operator of Lawrie-Wagon Carriage on Wall Street. Jim had a great zest for life and enjoyed talking with everybody he met along his way. When he wasnt in his garden growing the best crops of tomatoes and carrots, you could find him on the CFB golf course. In the winter he spent Sunday mornings roller-skating at the Galaxy Rink with his granddaughters and his many friends. He also spent many Saturday evenings and weekday lunch times with his wife and friends at No. 4 Legion on Portage enjoying "the best food in town". We would like to thank Dr. Angus McGowan and all the 4th floor hospital staff at the Victoria General Hospital. Their support and compassion was greatly appreciated. Jim was a great husband, brother, father, papa and friend. He will always be in our hearts. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 9 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (4000 Portage Ave.) with a reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion No. 4 (1755 Portage Ave.). Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
