Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA LEE SWANSON (nee BECKER) Master Warrant Officer (RET) A76627615 1950 - 2002 Linda Lee Swanson, beloved wife of Lee Swanson of Balzac, AB, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Friday, December 6, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 52 years. Linda was born in Carman, MB on April 4, 1950 to Daniel and Anne Becker. She joined the Canadian Armed Forces (Air Force) in 1969 and served proudly until 1995, retiring with the rank of Master Warrant Officer. Among her many postings in Canada, she also served in Egypt in 1979, receiving a Peacekeeping Medal in January 2002 at her Legion Branch #288 Airdrie. After her retirement, she was employed at Bell Helicopter (Textron) from 1995 until her passing. Linda and Lee met in October 1997 and were married on December 31, 1998. Besides her loving husband Lee, Linda is survived by her mother Mary Becker of Winnipeg; sisters, Debbie Henry of Winnipeg, Lois Yablonsky (Al, Kyla) of Fraserwood, MB, and Brenda of Winnipeg; brothers, Sam Becker (Petra), Les Becker (Eileen, Curtis), Ron Becker (Kim, Logan, and Joel), all of Fraserwood, MB, Darryl (Sandy, Brodie, and Nichol) of Ele Des Cmenis, MB; a niece Danielle Becker of Gimli, MB; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Arnold and Edna Swanson of Saskatoon, SK. She is also survived by Dave and Barb Swanson (Ryan and Kyler) of Madden, AB, Shane and Renee Swanson (Megan and Erica) of Red Deer, AB, Sandra and Russ Friesen (Taylor and Alex) of Saskatoon, SK. Linda was predeceased by her mother Anne in 1950; father Daniel 1982; brother Robbie in 1989; brother Jack in 1999; and brother-in-law Larry Henry in 2001. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAYS "Airdrie Funeral Home," (300 Towerlane Drive, Airdrie, AB), on Wednesday, December 11 at 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. Marys Church in Elm Creek, MB at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14.
