Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIn loving memory of CHRISTINE OLIVE TRAVERSE October 3, 1950 - December 7, 2002 Peacefully with her family at her bedside, she entered eternal rest with her Saviour Jesus Christ. She leaves to mourn her sons, Peter (Ellen), Darryl (Denise) and Joshua. Daughters, Rebecca (George), Carole (Jessie), Lillian (Raymond) Marsden, Valerie (Byron), Chantel and Melodie. She also leaves her mother Helen Sumner. Sisters, Caroline (Leslie) Thompson, Kathleen Sumner, Verna (Tom) Woodhouse, Julia Sumner, Evelyn Thompson (Dennis) and Lisa Sumner (Eddie). Brothers, Brian (Rhonda), Wayne (Harriet), Cyril (Lisa) all of Fairford. Also numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Christine lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed being with her friends. Her favourite pastimes were sewing, quilting and making blankets. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, especially working with flowers and shrubs making her yard beautiful. But most of all tending to her children and grandchildren. Christine worked most of her life with the Fairford Band and the Interlake Reserves Tribal Council, going to different communities in the Interlake. In January 1997 she was predeceased by her husband George and son William. In August 1979 her daughter Laura, her father Isaac - January 1982, maternal grandmother Christina Woodhouse - October 1985, paternal grandmother Martha Bruce - June 1994, brother-in-law James Sumner - September 2001. The family would like to convey their thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB, St. Boniface Hospital, ward 5B and dialysis unit, and the Lakeshore Ambulance attendants, Chief and Council of Fairford, and the residents of Jackhead, along with Pastor Dan Murdock, and Bruce Martin for their prayers and support. Also to those that brought food donations. Special thanks to Arnason Funeral Home for their services. Wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11 at the Fairford House of Prayer. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12 at the Fairford House of Prayer with Robert McLean officiating. Interment to follow in the Fairford Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Sumner, Leslie Thompson Sr., Cyril Sumner, Warren Woodhouse, Clifford M. Sumner and Patrick McMahon. Crossbearer will be Curtis W. Sumner.
