Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD HORST BUTZ It is with great sadness the family of Harold Horst Butz announces his passing on Sunday, December 8, 2002 at Riverview Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. Harold will be deeply missed by his loving wife Lore; daughters, Doris (Chris), Susan (David) son Harry (Sandy) grandchildren, Amanda, Kyle, Paul, Andrew and Ryan; brother Wolfgang and family; numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Frederick and mother Thea; two brothers, Guenther and Waldemar. Born on May 15, 1931 in Karlsruhe, Germany, Harold and Lore made their way to Canada in 1951 and settled in Winnipeg. They were married in 1952 and began their journey together. Harold was a tool and die maker by trade and a self-taught handyman. He worked for 20 years as a foreman at Versatile Equipment and then retired from Canadian Bronze in 1992. The happiest times of Harolds life were spent with family and friends at the cottage at Red Rock Lake where he loved to putter around in his workshop and enjoy the evenings just gazing out to the lake. In accordance with Harolds wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all his friends, especially Alfred Judt for his continued support and visits with our father. A big thank you to Dr. Daeninck and all of the staff at the WRHA Palliative Care Program and especially to the 3E Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Health Centre for making his last days comfortable and pain free.
