PETER MILUCH Beloved father of Silvia; father-in-law of Gordon; and grandpa of Jason Yakimow went to Eternal Rest, Saturday, December 7, 2002 with his family at his side in the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, where he lived happily and joyfully for the past four years. He lived at The Club. He was predeceased by his wife Lena (nee Kulbaba) of 52 years on March 13, 1990. Dad was born April 12, 1910, second youngest son of Felix and Helyna (Kuchma) Miluch in Howlewie Wielkim Powiat Kipozymge, Poland. He was predeceased by his parents and six siblings, Mike, Maria, Katherine in Winnipeg, John, Annie and Paul in Poland. He came to Canada with his sister Katherine to join his brother Mike and sister Mary, who had made their homes in Winnipeg earlier in October, 1929. Dad was a man of many talents; playing the trumpet (self-taught) in various bands; playing the drums (self-taught) forming his own band P. Miller Orchestra for many, many years; building a cottage in Winnipeg Beach with help from some family and friends of which he and Mom were proud of and enjoyed immensely. Dad was able to make a trip back to Poland and seeing his two brothers and one sister and their families in 1976, whom he hadnt seen since leaving them in 1929. Dad worked at various jobs when he came to Canada, playing his trumpet, working at the Cordite Plant and CPR, retiring in 1974, to care for Mom, who had become ill. He is survived by his only daughter Silvia; son-in-law Gord, who was like the son he didnt have; grandson Jason, the light of his life; his niece Lillian Buckler of Winnipeg; nephews, Nick and wife Mary Blonar of Burnaby, BC; Edward (who predeceased him in 2002) Sibigas family of Ottawa, ON; two grandnieces and families; one grandnephew and fiancee; nieces, nephews and families in Poland and Ukraine. He will also be missed by Moms family, with whom he was very close to, Evelyn Kulbaba, Minnie Kundel, Ada Millan, Myrna and Al Wensel, two nieces and four nephews and families of which are two Godsons, Ralph Kundel and Zane Lomatski. According to Peters wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Mikhail Kouts officiating. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Dad and his family would appreciate donations in his memory for further research to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. A blessed heartfelt thank-you to B-2 Unit - Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg - Dads Angels and friends, and a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Les Ullyot for all his help and care and being there for Dad and his family.
