Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN HELEN TAYLOR (nee LILLEY) It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Kathleen Taylor at the age of 80 years. Mum passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2002. Kay and her twin sister Eva were born in Bjorkdale, SK, on November 15, 1922. Following her school years there, Kay sought employment within the medical field. She provided health care to patients in Saskatchewan hospitals in Prince Albert, Regina and Melfort. Kay spent a brief period living and working in Toronto but later moved to Winnipeg where she called it "home." It was there that she married her husband Frank and started her family. For numerous years, Kay continued to provide nursing care while working at Easton Nursing Home. During the early years of her retirement, she volunteered at St. Josephe Nursing Home. She also was an active volunteer within the Womens Auxiliary at the Royal Canadian Legion No. 141. Mum was always a happy-go-lucky person who enjoyed life and had a smile for everyone. As a cancer survivor of over 30 years, her life was not without struggles, however, she always showed determination. Kay was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1985. She leaves to mourn her daughters, Ywain (Danny) and Violet; grandchildren, Wayne and Walter; sisters, Eva and Mary; cousin Arden; and several nieces and nephews. Also she will be missed by her special friend Frank who has been a loving companion. Kay appreciated his friendship greatly and his concern for her. Mum expressed a desire to extend special thanks to the following people: all the Fraser extended family who have walked beside our family for over 50 years; Rev. John Moore and Jerry Baltesson for their many visits and friendship; Palliative Care volunteer Mary Ross who was like a sister to Kay; and Lynn McGregor, Palliative Care home nurse for her excellent care and love. A memorial service will be held at Riverview Hospital Chapel, 1 Morley Ave., on Wednesday, December 11 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fraser Hunter officiating. The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to all staff of the Riverview Palliative Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care and Hospice Manitoba, N119-2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
