LAWRENCE JOHN (TUBBY) TURNBULL Peacefully on Saturday December 7, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg Tubby Turnbull of Carman, beloved husband of Barbara, passed away at the age of 65 years. Besides his wife he is survived by his sons, Kevin (Debra) and Jason; and grandchildren, Andrew and Alyssa all of Thunder Bay, ON, and other relatives and friends. Tubby was predeceased by his first wife Shirley Pritchard and parents, John and Ada Turnbull. Tubby was born in Treherne and for 37 years worked for the Department of Highways and the last few years drove for Delaquis Ford. He coached the Carman Goldeyes for a number of years, enjoyed ice fishing and golfing. Tubby was very outgoing, and made many friends and always told and enjoyed a good joke. Ten years ago when Tubby was waiting for a heart transplant, the Celebration of Life organization was begun to help others needing financial assistance for medical reasons. This organization is still very active today. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carman United Church with Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Celebration of Life, in care of Tanya Mitchell, Box 1420, Carman, MB R0G 0J0. Doyles Funeral Chapel of Carman in care of arrangements.
