Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFAY BISHOP (nee HOWARD) 1925 - 2002 It is with deepest sadness that we bid farewell to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Fay passed away on December 9, 2002 at the St. Boniface Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years Jack; and her two sons, Howard (Debra) and Cliff (Linda) as well as her two grandchildren, Darren (fiancee Michelle) and Charlene (fiancee Chris) special friend Marilyn Gaudreau; nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her father James Edgar Howard and mother Edith Isabelle (nee Couthard) her two brothers, Nelson Andrew and Reginald Edgar. Fay was born in Mather, MB where she resided until the age of nine. From there her family moved to Swan Lake, Killarney and finally to Stonewall, MB in 1937. Fay attended Stonewall School and worked part-time at her fathers Red and White Grocery. Upon graduation she completed a hairdresser course at Scientific School in Winnipeg. In 1943 she married Jack and for 59 years were lifelong partners residing for the most part in Norwood. Fay was involved in the community with curling and was a 12 year member of the Coronation Bowling League. For most summers you could find Fay at the ball park, an avid fastball fan of her two sons. Recently she enjoyed special times with her coffee friends and bowling ladies. Fay loved life and made the simplest things an event. She was truly a "people" person. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St., with Rose Desrochers, S.N.J.M. presiding. Viewing will take place prior to the service between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
