Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN JOHNS (POLLARD) August 14, 1912 - December 10, 2002 Eileen Roberta Josephine died peacefully at Maples Personal Care Home surrounded by her family. Left to cherish Eileens memory are her children, Lois Spearman, Carol Allen (David), Edward Johns (Kathy) all of Winnipeg, Mary Tinling (Harold) of Nanaimo, BC; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Elias in 1977; parents, Eli and Clara Pollard; four stepbrothers, William, George, Albert and John Town; and son-in-law Edward Spearman. Eileen was born in a house on Bannatyne Avenue in Winnipeg. She attended Ralph Brown School and St. Johns High School. She was married to Elias at the Law Courts Building by Judge Stubbs - the first couple to be married there, which is recorded in the Manitoba History Books. Eileen was a homemaker and devoted mom. She was always supportive and caring and a very determined person. Mom loved life and called the shots right to the end. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday (today), December 13, at Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Blvd. with Pastor Don Engel officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of ones choice. The family thanks the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for their concern for Mom and for taking such great care of her.
