ALEXANDER EDWARD ROWBOTTOM Alexander Edward Rowbottom, formerly of Winnipeg, entered into rest peacefully, at Montgomery Lodge, Belleville, ON, on Monday, December 9, 2002, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Grace Rowbottom. Survived by three children, Barbara Stark of Kelowna, BC, Phylis Fabbri of Winnipeg, and Stuart Rowbottom (Linda) and granddaughters, Amy and Laura of Lac du Bonnet; nieces, Sue Wardell (Rick) of Gimli, and Carol Ryback (Walt) of Winnipeg; nephew Lorne Scott (Valerie) of Montreal; stepson Robert Currie (Sharon) of Belleville, ON; granddaughter Joanne Van Humbeck (Russ) great-grandson Keegan Van Humbeck of Dartmouth, NS; stepdaughter Penny Smelcer; grandchildren, Jonathan and Erin Smelcer of Mississauga, ON. Longtime member of the St. Boniface Golf Club, he served two terms as president. He was an avid sportsman who lived and loved life to the fullest. A memorial service will be held at the Burke Funeral Home, (613) 968-6968, Belleville, ON, on Saturday, December 14, 2002.
