LIONEL MERVYN (MERV) TRELEMAN After a hard, lengthy battle against complications from surgery, Merv passed away on Monday, December 9 with all his family by his side. Born in Cumberland, BC on May 19, 1927, he spent most of his youth on the island and then graduated from Calgary Tech as an Aeronautical Engineer. In that capacity he helped in the design of the jet liner and the arrow at AVRO until the companys doors were shut. He worked for many years at Found Brothers Aviation and was a major contributor in the design and success of the FBA2C, a bush place that is currently in reproduction known as the Bush Hawk. In Winnipeg he was employed at Bristol Aerospace from 1969 to 1991 when he retired. Merv was predeceased by his mother Florence and his father Lionel; his sister Vivian; and brother Alder. He is survived by his wife Anne; two sons, John and Joel; his daughter Janna; and his grandson Jesse. He was the most wonderful husband and father and will be greatly missed and always loved by his family, friends, and extended family which include several children who called him Grandpa and by his four-legged family which gave him great pleasure in his retirement. Cremation has taken place and a service will be held on Friday, December 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Flowers are gratefully declined but a donation to a charity of your choice would be his wish.
