LAURENT (nee FROHWERK) Peacefully on December 10, 2002, at St. Boniface Hospital, with her family by her side, Augusta St. Laurent passed away at the age of 81 years. Augusta will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Jackie Hooey (Rick Van Meer) and her children, Lyndsey and Michelle; son Louis (Therese) St. Laurent and their children, John and Jordan; and daughter Joy (Gordon) Dubois and their children, Nicole, Jennifer and Michael. She is also remembered by her sisters, Hertha (Jake) Kowcun and Martha Carr; sisters-in-law, Alma Frohwerk and Ethel Frohwerk; brother-in-law Howard Bush; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Doug in 1995; four brothers, Ben, Bill, Ewald and Donald; and four sisters, Marie, Anne, Elsie and Lena. Augusta was born January 18, 1921, in Grahamdale, MB, and was raised on the farm in the Salem district. She married Doug in 1953, and together they raised their family in Winnipeg. After retiring at the age of 65 years, she spent her time traveling, playing bingo and spending time with her family. She spent the past year and a half at River East Personal Care Home, enjoying the many activities she was involved in. Special thanks to the staff at River East Personal Care Home for their excellent care and compassion, and the staff of 7 South at St. Boniface Hospital for making her final days so comfortable. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, December 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., with Chaplain Mark Scott officiating. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Johnson, Robert Johnson, Dean Dubois, Terry Carr, Don Frohwerk, and Jerry Bulachowski. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
