HENRY EDWIN BROWN 1907 - 2002 Peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at Percy E. Moore Hospital, Hodgson, MB, with his sister Gert and niece Carolyn by his side, Henry passed away at the age of 95. He leaves to mourn his son Robert (Rosalee) of Chilliwack, BC; daughter Gail Monkman of Winnipeg; six grandchildren, Rita (Kerri) Ratzloft, Trevor (Carol) Brown, Peter Brown, Shelley and family, Dwayne Monkman and Stanley Monkman; seven great-grand-children; one brother Donald of Rathwell, MB; sisters, Gert of Eriksdale, Florence of Nipawin, SK, Elsie of Calgary; and a sister-in-law Laura of Edmonton; along with many nieces, nephews and many friends. Henry was born January 29, 1907 in Winnipeg, MB, and moved to Eriksdale with his family at a young age, where he spent his entire life. He farmed and drilled wells for many residents in the area. He took great pleasure in gardening, growing vegetables and fruit for anyone that could use them. He also enjoyed fishing in the summer and winter. His passion for many years was going to auction sales where he socialized and met many friends far and wide. He always came home with a "good deal" for someone. He loved to tell stories of his past experiences and of course give "advice" for the "younger" folk. At family gatherings the nephews could be challenged with an "arm wrestle" or two; "See how its done young fella," he would say. Henry moved into Eriksdale Villa in 1997 and then to Fisher Branch Personal Care Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, at the Eriksdale Recreation Centre, with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the St. Cuthberts Cemetery. Friends and relatives may pay their respects one hour prior to the service at the hall. Pallbearers will be Byron Miller, Craig Miller, Ray Miller, Ken Miller, Rob Miller, Jeff Miller, Jay Miller and Jeremy Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Gomer Plantz, Donald Brown, Raymond Brown, Arnold Blue, Robert Blue and Garry Hill. The family would like to thank the staff of the Fisher Branch PCH and staff of Percy Moore Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Henry. Arrangements by: Arnason Funeral Homes Ltd.
