OLGA LUCY SELISKI (nee ZAJAC) Late Tuesday afternoon on December 10, 2002, Olga Seliski died peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital in British Columbia at the age of 86. Born Jan 10, 1916, in Winnipeg, MB. She met and married her sweetheart John, whom she loved and cherished even after his death in 1986. She was a hard working and very organized person who juggled a career, husband and family. She enjoyed her job at the Bay in Winnipeg in the fabric department where she worked until her retirement. Her love of plants was reflected in the beautiful flowerbeds she always grew in her yard. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking and baking. No one ever left home hungry - she made sure of that! Crafts were her other passion. Her home was a showcase of the many pictures, doilies, afghans and other crafts that were her labours of love. Her favourite times were spent looking after her grandchildren from the time they were babies. She used a loving but firm approach. A few years after her husbands death she moved to British Columbia to be near her son and daughter. Olga is survived by her son Lawrence of White Rock, BC, and his children, Paul and Daniel; daughter Cecilia of Kamloops, BC, and her children, Sheila, Bradley (Sandra) and Lisa (Stephen) great-grandchildren, Justin, Tristina, Anthony and Victoria of Manitoba and Tiffany and Carl of Kamloops; sister-in-law Julia Osowicz (Frank) of Winnipeg; many cousins, nephews and nieces. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Ave., West Kildonan, on Wednesday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Father Terence P. McGarth will be officiating. Interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Cancer Society in Olgas memory.
