JAMES AFFLECK James Affleck passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the age of 90 years He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Carol Hawn (Chris) and grandchildren, Matthew and Karen. He was predeceased by his loving wife Florence in May 2002. Jim was born in Fort Garry and was a lifelong resident until his move to Meadowood Tower in 2000. As a young man he worked at the University of Manitoba and served in the RCN in Victoria during the Second World War. When he returned to Winnipeg, he and Florence operated their own business in Fort Garry. Later he worked for the City of Winnipeg until retirement. Jim and Florence enjoyed their family and friends in Canada, the U.S.A. and the U.K., their travelling, their many rides in the country and their home and yard. A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, December 19 at 1:00 p.m. in Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. with Pastor Edward Hamm officiating. Interment at a later date in St. Vital Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Victoria Hospital for their care and a special thank you to everyone at Meadowood Tower, staff, residents and home care workers for your friendship, kindness and good care.
