FRED WILLIAM BRYAN November 10, 1917 - December 14, 2002 It is with sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our father and grandfather, Fred Bryan, on December 14, 2002, at his residence. Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alice, in 1997. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Barbara (Tom) Wingert of Winnipeg, Susan (Ross) Reid of Ottawa, and his grandchildren, Michael and Lauren. Fred was born and raised in Winnipeg. In his youth Fred enjoyed most sports, especially hockey and soccer. Fred enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and served Canada overseas during the Second World War. Fred retired from the Navy in 1966, in Ottawa, having achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He then began his second career as a teacher at Sir John A. Macdonald High School in Ottawa. He enjoyed his students immensely. He retired from teaching in 1980. Fred and Alice returned to Winnipeg in 1986, where they renewed many old friendships and developed new ones. Fred was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by all who knew him. In accordance with Freds wishes, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
