SAS KINGMA Peacefully on December 14, 2002 at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 75, Sas Kingma went to his Heavenly home to be with Jesus. Born March 17, 1927 in Janum, Friesland, The Netherlands Sas discovered his love for woodworking at an early age. He was a skilled carpenter, with "sawdust running through his veins" - woodworking was his vocation, his hobby and his passion. He served for the Dutch Army in Indonesia for two years after which he immigrated to Canada in 1953. His loving partner, Rena, followed him to Canada and they were married in Winnipeg September 10, 1954. He actively volunteered in the Christian Reformed Church as an Elder, Catechism teacher and other various activities. During the last few years, Sas and his wife Rena were volunteering in Arizona with the Wycliff Bible Translators. Sas was predeceased by his parents and two brothers in the Netherlands. He is lovingly remembered by his brother Ane (pronounced Owna) in the Netherlands; his wife Rena, four married children, Paul (Diane), Annette (James), Heather (Leo), Arthur (Rachel) 10 grandchildren, Robbie (Christi), Danny, Tara, Rachele, Valerie, Jocelyn, Devin, Alexie, Gabriel and Sofia.
