DONNA LOUISE MAY On Thursday, December 12, 2002, while vacationing in Costa Rica, Donna Louise May departed on her eternal journey, to travel heaven with her Lord and Saviour. Donna was born September 10, 1952 and lived all her life in Winnipeg. She graduated from St. James Collegiate and worked with the Manitoba Human Rights Commission where she celebrated 25 years of service this past year. Colleagues frequently remarked that if anyone in the office needed to know anything about office process or procedures they had only to ask Donna. Donna lived to travel, especially in the warmer climates. Her outgoing personality made her friends quickly. Donna was a unique person for whom her personal faith was a cornerstone of her life. Mercy, love and a spirit that did not long harbour criticism of others were hallmarks of her character. She was a longtime contributor to the Childrens Hospital Foundation and the Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship. Anyone who knew her also knew of her fondness for teddy bears and Pendelfin collectables. Donna was an ardent fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and will continue to cheer them toward that elusive Grey Cup from heavens front-row seat. Celebrating her promotion from this world are her loving parents, Mavis and Gordon May of Winnipeg; brother Russ and wife Lori of Winnipeg and children, Lisa in British Columbia, Christopher in Winnipeg and Nathan in Taiwan; brother Jeff and wife Barb of Regina; brother Doug and wife Kathie of Winnipeg with children, Chelsea, Gord, Kiirsten and Ben; sister Laura and husband Paul of Winnipeg and daughter Monique in Saskatchewan. Many additional aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will continue to remember her fondly. Donna treasured the eulogy from her Grandfather Lebeaus funeral: A FAITH BY WHICH TO DIE - When we have lost someone we love, it is often difficult to let faith shine through a saddened heart. Reason and faith will tell us however, how can we lose that which is being held in the bonds of love and everlasting affection? When something is lost it is because we do not know where to find it. But Jesus said "I go to prepare a place for you. I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am". We have not lost (Donna) for we know where to find her -. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Saturday, December 28 at 12:30 p.m. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Jim and Jo Eubank of Texas who were with Donna at the time of her passing. They blessed our family by their efforts to contact us through the Canadian Embassy in Costa Rica and provide comforting information. Gods children care for Gods children. Our thanks also to the staff of Foreign Affairs Consular Services in Ottawa for their compassion, tact and diligence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Childrens Hospital Foundation, 501-840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
