Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS BEAMAN (nee TURNER) June 27, 1919 - December 14, 2002 It is with great sorrow and heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother on December 14, 2002 at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre. Gladys was predeceased by her parents, Sara and John Turner and her loving husband of 50 years John Beaman. She is survived by her sons, Brian (Debbie Derksen) and Jim (Cindy) grandchildren, Kathy (Francis), Lori (Mike), Dawn and Erin; and great-grandchildren, Aidan and Dylan. Along with her immediate family, Gladys will be missed by nieces and nephews, many longtime friends and good neighbours whom she shared herself and always enjoyed their friendship and companionship. Gladys will be remembered for her generous spirit, loyal friendship and her gift of laughter. With Gladys around, there was never a dull moment. We will all miss her dearly, but are thankful for the many fun-filled memories that she leaves with us. Gladys was raised in the north end of Winnipeg and was employed at Eatons. During her youth, she enjoyed roller-skating with friends and excelled at bowling at St. Josephs. In later years, she discovered her real passion was curling and enjoyed playing with the West Kildonan/St. Johns Seven Oaks Ladies, West Kildonan Seniors Recreation Club and Bleak House where she made many lasting friendships. We wish to sincerely thank the wonderful staff and health care professionals at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for making our mothers final days comfortable and peaceful, and Dr. Kevin Saunders for his care and compassion and understanding. With respect to our mothers wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment. A celebration of Gladys life will be held on Saturday, December 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. West St. Paul. All of her friends and family may attend to celebrate her life and new journey. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Gladys memory to the Firefighters Burn Fund, 303-83 Garry St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4J9 or a charity of ones choice.
