MARIE ANGELE DOBUSH (nee GOBEIL) August 7, 1940 - December 14, 2002 Peacefully, on December 14, 2002, at the Riverview Health Centre, following a two and one half-year courageous struggle with breast cancer, Marie Angele passed away into the arms of The Lord. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband of 42 years, Walter; and her children, Georgette, Glenn (Audrey) and Jim (Jackie) as well as her beloved grandchildren, Jaime, Blake, Dallas, Nicholas and Katrina. She is also survived by her sisters, Annette, Florence (Joe Letain), Suzanne (Eugene Delaurier), Adele (Ken Babcock) and Diane (Lucien Arpin) and her brothers, Denis (Annette), Gabriel (Margaret), August (Louise), Lionel (Huguette), Andre (Sandra), Gerald (Carol), Raymond (Velma), Roland (Julie), Robert (Carol) and Claude (Gwen) brother-in-law Frank Delannoy; and sister-in-law Delores Gobeil; as well her sisters-in-law, Jessie Zapotochny, Mary (Les Beames), Stella Shmyr and Julie Dobush; brothers-in-law, Bill (Dorothy), John (Dolly), Edward (Irene) and Bob (Dorothy) as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Amelienne and Thomas; her father and mother-in-law, Anthony and Katherina; as well as brothers, Joe and Omar; and sister Denise Delannoy; sister-in-law Therese Gobeil; brothers-in-law, Ted Zapotochny, Mike Shmyr, George Gagnon; nephews, Ryan Gobeil, Jules Gobeil; and niece Arlene Dobush. She was raised in the southeastern Manitoba community of South Junction. The school she attended comprised primarily of her family members and cousins down the road. On leaving home, she moved to Winnipeg and worked at the St. Boniface Hospital for a number of years. It was at this time that she met Walter; they married in 1960 and then settled down in Prawda to raise their family. In 1966, they moved to Winnipeg where she and Walter remained until retirement, when they chose to return to Prawda, a place they both enjoyed to call home. Her greatest joys were found surrounding her family. She was a devoted wife to Walter and took great joy in providing for those around her. This "French" lady quickly came to learn how to cook the "Ukrainian" cuisine at a young age and took great pride in preparing delicious foods for family and friends who came to visit. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and various crafts. We are so fortunate to have many treasures made by her to cherish in her memory. We will miss you Mom. We know that you will always be a very special "ange" watching over us. We would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Paul Daeninck and the special people at CancerCare Manitoba, to Dr. Crowe, Diana Cook and staff at Riverview Health Centre, Dr. Marsh, and her nurse, Linda, who cared for her while she was at home. A very special thanks to family and friends for their support and love to mom and her family during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. The funeral mass will be officiated by Father Marcel Toupin, at Reynolds Community Hall, in Prawda, MB, on Wednesday, December 18 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9, CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Inc., ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or a charity of your choice.
