EVELYN FLATT Passed away peacefully on December 15, 2002 at Third Crossing Manor, Gladstone, MB, Evelyn Flatt, aged 90 years, of Gladstone, formerly of Plumas, MB. Evelyn was born September 19, 1912 at Leabank, MB to John and Mary Belows (nee Poersch). She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Leabank. Evelyn worked for Quallys of Dacotah, Manitoba where she met Adam Flatt of Glenella. They were married in Brunkild on November 11, 1933, after which they moved to Glenella. They farmed there until retiring to Plumas in 1975. She became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Plumas. Evelyn loved to garden, knit and crochet, until failing eyesight made this impossible. Each of us has a special sweater or afghan made by her. In April of 1988 she moved to Centennial Apartments in Gladstone to be near Adam who was a resident at Third Crossing Manor. Due to failing health, Evelyn became a resident of Third Crossing Manor in August of 1999. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Adam in 1991; her parents, John and Mary Belows; one sister Arlene; and one brother Arthur. She is survived by two daughters, Louise (Norman), and Eunice (Allen) one son Kenneth (Mary) eight grandchildren, Aaron, Krista, and Jennifer, Chris (Carol), Tracey (John), Shelley, Maryann (Dion), and Claire (Trisha) and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Evan. She is also survived by one brother John of Florida; three sisters, Elsie (Arthur), Margaret (Mel) of Winnipeg, and Dorothy (David) of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church, Plumas with Pastor Richard Klein officiating. Interment will follow at Plumas Cemetery.
