ANTHONY MINGO With great sadness, we announce the passing of Anthony (Tony) Mingo on Sunday, December 15, 2002, at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 81 years. Tony is survived by his loving wife Maria; his children, Luigi (Suzanne) Mingo, Riccardo (Sandra) Mingo, and Rita (George) Mingo Johnson; grandchildren, Stephanie, Leandra, Adriana, Michela and Sabrina; great-grandchildren, Hayley and Kieran; sister Matilda (Giuseppe) Magnifico; nephews, Roberto, Franco, Adriano and Marco Magnifico, and niece Teresa Maguet and families; and the many cousins, aunts and uncles in Canada, Italy and the US. Tony was predeceased by his mother Antonia and his father Luigi. Tonys infectious smile, his sense of humour and warmth will be missed by all those who knew him. He made numerous friends during his working years at Canada Packers, Deer Lodge Hospital and Winnipeg Enterprises. He will be remembered also for his fondness for watching sports on television, particularly his beloved Montreal Canadiens, New York Yankees and soccer team Juventus, as well as for his love of gardening. Special thanks to the nurses and staff on the 8th floor (Palliative Care) of St. Boniface Hospital for their dedication and kindness. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19 in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. with Rev. Father Michael Savarimuthu presiding. Interment and reception will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
